Community Development

Our goal is to provide a variety of direct services to promote, educate, and assist our community members and enhance their well-being. The department collaborates with Inter-Tribal Departments, other tribes, and Federal, State, City, and local agencies to develop and implement programs that empower and improve the quality of life for individuals and families in an effective, efficient, and respectful manner.

Community Development oversees diverse community-based projects that provide direct services to community members in all Pascua Yaqui Tribal Communities.

  • Volunteer Income Tax Assistance (VITA)
  • Veterans Affairs Program
  • Voter Outreach
  • Census
  • Financial Literacy & Business Development

Most services within Community Development are volunteer-based; therefore volunteer recruitment is always ongoing. Recruiting and retaining volunteers is vital to ensure that community awareness is provided to ensure program success.
